A Queensland river with Australian bass, sooty grunter and golden perch recorded, and sooty grunter reported from Tiaro to past Kenilworth.
The Mary River is a Queensland river with Australian bass, sooty grunter and golden perch recorded in it.
FlyLife’s writers say sooty grunter have been established for about a decade and are now widespread from downstream of Tiaro to well upstream past Kenilworth. On one trip they found bass and sooty grunter in shady pockets of deeper water along a steeper bank edge with a little timber nearby, and location mattered far more than fly pattern or depth once that structure was identified.
