A Tasmanian lagoon with rainbow trout stocked into it and brown trout on record, including a Narrows area with a history of beetle-feeding rainbows fished from the shore.
Dee Lagoon is a Tasmanian trout water, and the trout you are fishing for are rainbows and browns. The Inland Fisheries Service stocking records show rainbow trout released into the lagoon across many seasons, and the stocking chart on this page shows which ones. Brown trout are on record here as well.
The part of the lagoon to know by name is the Narrows. It has a history of rainbow trout feeding on beetles, with fish approaching 6 pounds, and it can be fished from the shore. If you only have time for one area, start there.
Check the current Tasmanian Inland Fisheries Service guide for seasons, limits and licence rules before you fish.
