Somerset Dam's impoundment on the Stanley River in Queensland, stocked with Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod, saratoga and silver perch.
Lake Somerset is the impoundment behind Somerset Dam on the Stanley River, on the Esk–Kilcoy Road about 10 km north-east of Esk.
Five native fish are stocked into the dam: Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod, saratoga and silver perch. Australian bass is also recorded in the lake, so it is a good bet if you want a species with a known presence.
Seqwater owns the dam. Its site is the place to check current facilities and dam alerts before you drive out.
For the rules that apply to you, read the current Queensland fishing rules from Fisheries Queensland (Department of Primary Industries) before you fish.
