Glenlyon Dam on Pike Creek in southern Queensland, stocked with golden perch, Murray cod and silver perch.
Glenlyon Dam is a Queensland impoundment on Pike Creek, and the reason to make the drive is a stocked native fishery: golden perch, Murray cod and silver perch have all been released into it.
The dam is found on Pinnacle Road at Glenlyon, about 58 km south-west of Stanthorpe.
Sunwater owns the dam, so check its site for current facilities and dam alerts before you set out. Take the rules from the current Queensland fishing rules before you fish.

Fish and forage

Queensland stocking records list silver perch, golden perch and Murray cod for the dam. Those are the species to plan the day around.

Regulations

Before you fish, read the current Queensland fishing rules from the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries Queensland) and take any licence, season, bag and size requirements from them.
