Advancetown Lake

Stillwater
14.8 km²
Water area
The storage lake behind Hinze Dam on the Nerang River, stocked with Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod, saratoga and silver perch.
Advancetown Lake is the water held back by Hinze Dam on the Nerang River, and the reason to fish it is the stocked native fish: Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod, saratoga and silver perch have all been released into the dam.
The saratoga are the curiosity. Southern saratoga have been stocked here well beyond their natural Fitzroy Basin range.
The dam sits at Spillway Road, Advancetown, about 9 km south-west of Nerang. Seqwater owns it, and its site is the place to check current facilities and dam alerts before a trip.
